Douglas Burdett is the host of The Marketing Book Podcast, a weekly interview with the author of a new marketing or sales book that Douglas reads before each interview. In August 2024 the podcast will pass the 500-episode milestone. The show was named by LinkedIn and Forbes — among others — as one of the top marketing podcasts. It has millions of downloads, and listeners in over 185 countries. It is in the top 0.5% of over 3 million podcasts worldwide (source: Before starting his marketing agency in 2001 (from which he recently escaped), Douglas worked in New York City on Madison Avenue at ad industry giants J. Walter Thompson and Grey Advertising. Before starting his business career, Douglas served overseas for three years as a U.S. Army artillery officer and then earned an MBA. In lieu of a mid-life crisis, Douglas started performing standup comedy. He’s all better now, thanks.
